BAC Group carries out switchboard upgrades and new installations across residential, commercial, and industrial properties in Sydney. We use quality components — Clipsal RESI9, Hager, and Schneider Electric distribution boards — to ensure your switchboard is built to last and fully compliant with AS/NZS 3000.
Signs You Need a Switchboard Upgrade
- Your switchboard still uses ceramic fuses or old rewireable fuses
- You don’t have RCD (safety switch) protection on all circuits
- Circuit breakers are tripping frequently
- You’re adding a new appliance (EV charger, air conditioning, pool pump) and need extra capacity
- Your switchboard is over 25 years old
- You’re renovating or adding a granny flat or second dwelling
What's Involved in a Switchboard Upgrade
A switchboard upgrade typically involves disconnecting supply (coordinated with your energy retailer or Ausgrid), removing old equipment, installing a new enclosure and components, rewiring circuits to new breakers, installing RCDs and surge protection, and testing every circuit before reconnection. We handle the paperwork — including the Certificate of Compliance — and can coordinate with your energy retailer for metering changes if required.
